The usually hard to find Wilson's snipe has been popping up a lot lately - this marks the 4th time I've photographed one in 4 weekends, and this time at a different wetlands than the previous shots. I'm not complaining, though!
Another lucky spotting last weekend - this very elusive and very well hidden bird is one I may get to see once or twice a year, and some years not at all.

Another first...On my way home from golf Sunday morning I spotted this guy sitting on a fence post in a meadow, there was a tiny marsh nearby. I think his feet were to big to fit two on the post and he tucked one under his body.
Snow for a few days. According to weather forecast, temp in Greater Vancouver might reach a record low in the coming Sunday. Went out today after snow stopped. Got the Snipe, Kildeer, and the Short-eared Owl.
This Wilson's Snipe was perching on a power pole calling. Very difficult to get a photo of until the males get around a female and then it seems they are oblivious to anything but mating.
