  1. Wren in the distance

    Wren in the distance

Another ubiquitous bird along the Taff trail. I was hearing them every other tree, it seemed. But they were very busy, quick and shy. This was the closest I got, and it's a loooong zoom. Luckily, at max zoom including digital + teleconverter, the fz200 gives me something like 2500mm. Of course...

I'm guessing that this is a juvenile? A very obliging bird - let me get to within 6 ft or so as it was singing on the fence.

This little one was jumping all through the branches, but rested long enough to snap a quick pic of him.

    Wren

For the first time in months I'd felt up to a wander along the river, which coincided with a nice day. I chased the movements of this little Wren for ages before managing to grab this image. This camera sure is paying off though, as I wouldn't have got a picture at all with my old camera!!

  17. So close!

    So close!

This is how close the wren came as s/he dashed past me along the flower bed :eek!: S/he was right at my feet! I'd had to take the teleconverter off to get a clear shot, but luckily I'd already done that for the earlier shots when s/he was a bit further away in the flower bed but moving closer. I...
  18. That wren again

    That wren again

I've showed a couple shots of this wren before. This one shows how well s/he is camouflaged down among the old leaves in the flower bed.

    Run!

This is that wren I managed to get a shot of glimpsed between some leaves on the campus at Aberystwyth Uni. When s/he moved across open ground, s/he really put on some speed :eek!:
