The Mockingbirds were guarding the feeder yesterday morning, but had left by noon. This Carolina Wren chased a peaceful female Downy Woodpecker off the feeder and then proceeded to gorge himself. Here he is daring anyone else to come to the feeder!
my little wren.this one patrols my garden and still singing but can i capture it well i tried it just pops up here and there and gets on with its life.wish i had half its energy.
One of our most widespread and smallest birds they can be found in most Rural habitats and certainly in Urban areas.
They are also very timid and, in my experience, not the easiest of birds to get an image of as they will disappear into cover as soon as they are aware of your presence.
