  1. Red head

    Red head

What a surprise... a Scarlet Myzomela; I only got two images of this guy, the other would have fitted into to Alok's "derriere" images last Saturday LOL.
  2. Is there honey for tea?

    Is there honey for tea?

The water hole was proving really popular, here's another Lewin's Honeyeater who needed a drink. I'll not be around tomorrow as I've some things to deal with in Perth (our local city); then after I get back I've an appointment in the evening too. Just one of those days!!!
  3. Togetherness

    Togetherness

I'd seen a pair on my previous visit to the waterhole, so they obviously like each other. Silvereyes remain one of my favourite species.
  4. The last for now

    The last for now

A male Regent Bowerbird was the last species I photographed on this first visit to Hans' waterhole. But I was back there a few more times.
  5. Bowing

    Bowing

.... well this Green Catbird is about to take a drink from the water hole, so caught him as he started. I didn't see them actually drinking too often, guess they got most of their moisture from the clementine pieces Hans provided for them.
  6. A queen

    A queen

Then his lady arrived. The female Regent Bowerbird has a black cap, replacing the male's red-spotted yellow crown. It is the main distinguishing feature from other similar looking females.
  7. View from my hide

    View from my hide

This was the end of my penultimate visit to the forest waterhole with Hans and I thought it time to let you see the set up. I only cropped it a very little bit. I was sitting on a comfy seat, surrounded by netting with a hole cut out to poke my camera lens through, you can see a bit of the...
  8. A battle

    A battle

.. for supremacy I guess. I was so hoping a Lace Monitor would appear again and sure enough one arrived. Had a drink and swam around in the waterhole. Suddenly Hans and I noticed another, larger, one appearing stage left! Gawd now what!!! The first one was still in the water but climbing out...
  9. Off his tree....

    Off his tree....

.... for a bathe. Another Lifer this White-throated Treecreeper and such a surprise to see him in the water. I only got two images of him though, but better than nothing.
  10. Thirsty

    Thirsty

Hans and I spotted this guy coming from way back in the forest at exactly the same time! He made a bee-line for the water hole, not sure if he came by hopefully, or could smell the water there. A nice creature this one.
  11. Is the coast clear?

    Is the coast clear?

This Lace Monitor approached the water hole very gingerly, as on his previous visit another, larger one appeared and chased him off. He peeked over the top of a rock before going on to have a drink.
