This Chat must like it here enough to overwinter in NC, because he's still in the Honeysuckle Bush

Got kinda obsessed with this bird. Love the color and his demeanor. I think he's gotten more used to me since he comes out of hiding more often to give me a better look. BTW, he's been here for at least a week and I have lots of pictures

Seen this fellow now for the past week and still no clear picture

went out back yesterday and got a few shots of, but always behind twigs and leave, seen him again today but no pics.

Another lifer for me. This sighting is a record (departure date) by one day and I'm hoping to find it again today.

This atypical warbler seems to occur with regularity here in NS in Winter, presumably because of reverse migration. They tend to be skulkers, but this one stayed out in the open long enough to be photographed.

One of my yard birds, we've had a chat here for the last 3 years. This one loves coming in and eating the grape jelly and oranges I put out for the Orioles. The Chat is the largest of the North American wood warblers.

Last year we had a Yellow-breasted Chat come into the yard on an almost daily basis during the warm weather. I hadn't seen one this year and was afraid he wasn't coming. Happily he came in yesterday and stayed for about 10 minutes. I also saw a brief glimpse of him today, hopefully he's back to...

Early morning shot. The bg was rendered this dark for a purpose. By using flash, the camera will compensate by trying to expose based on the ETTL values from the light comming from the gun. The result is that a compensation is made to preserve the values of the bird while the bg is darkened...

Have had only moderate success getting images of this bird. Using recorded bait does help, but the bird still keeps it's distance.
