I was expecting another bird to land on this perch, but out of nowhere this little honeyeater landed and asked: "may I?". Well, I didn't mind and he took off immediately after I pressed the shutter button. "See you next time", - I said.
Just back from a few days on the Gold Coast and the Tweed River (after a work conference). Had a wonderful time on Fingal Head/Letitia spit and in the Ukerebagh Nature Reserve, where we found a few of these little beauties this morning before getting on the plane to fly home.
It's always so difficult to photo this species... for me anyway... so I was pleased to get this shot taken in the Blue Mountains of NSW. Photos of its amazingly delicate nest can be seen on my blog at
