One of our prettier resident songbirds - most of our more colorful warblers and vireos only migrate or winter here, but this one stays here most of the year except to head a bit farther up in the southeastern states to breed.
Saw this lovely bird late in the evening the day before we returned. Turns out to be a N. American native wintering in Mexico:). Wish there was more time to see this better in daylight.

Another Winter raity in NS - this was a regular visitor to a feeder near my place of work, Kentville. It was last seen during a heavy snowstorm in late Dec., but was present for the Xmas Bird Count.
