10x42 MeoPro Air HDED vs 10x42HD Meostar B1 Plus - it's on! (1 Viewer)

The Air focuses in the opposite direction and indeed is a bit slower. Neither bothers me, but then when focusing a MeoStar I always think "wow this focuser is nice".

Hi Jarko,
I can't decide between MeoPro Air HD 8x42 and 10x42. You had both so could you tell me please your opinion which one do you think would be better choice for me?
I already own Meopta S2 82 HD spective, Kowa 8x32 bino as well as Opticron 8x42 monocular and my main interest is nature observing as well as birdwatching.
Thanks,
Pavel

That depends. Sounds like 10x42 would do you a better service in birdwatching, but please try before you buy. 8x42 is better for astronomy, might be slightly better if you are used to it, and also has slightly better, and almost perfect, edge correction.

Thanks a lot for brisk reply. I will probably order 10x42 as well as 8x42 and decide which one suits me better. The best way for sure would be if I could call you, because you have been testing them both plus, and this is most important, regarding this subject you know what you are talking about ...

Eye relief is almost too long on the 8x42. It works great for me with glasses but not so great without. The eye cups should be slightly longer or twist further out (when used without glasses). But that certainly depends on personal face anatomy. I'm still very happy with it and it's my most used bino.
The "wrong" focusing direction is no issue for me as I have a number of binoculars that focus counter-clockwise.
