14x32 is great (1 Viewer)

From the eyecups on my 12x32s I can see why they are a problem for many folks. Since I wear glasses and they work perfectly when folded down, I haven't found them an issue. However, I saw an interesting suggestion for folks who do not wear glasses over on Cloudy Nights.

Fold the inner half of the eyecups down, leaving the outer half up. I tried it and it worked well for me. YMMV, depending on your nose and facial structure.

Clear skies, Alan

The eyecups are by far the worst part of these bins. If they had 1-2mm more eye-relief, I could use them with glasses with the cups folded down. As is, I have to press my glasses into my face rather uncomfortably to get the full FOV. If I take my glasses off (prefer to bird with them on, but whatever), then I have to flip the eye cups half way up in order to make them usable. The eyecups all the way up are unusable - I don't know who has eyesockets that large and eyes set that far forward in their sockets? I can't imagine these eye cups work for any reasonable portion of birders?

Hi PB,

As per another thread, I cut off the two outer rings on my IS 15x50’s and are much more useable and comfortable. The Canon 32mm series uses the same/similar eye cups.
