Where premium quality meets exceptional value. ZEISS Conquest HDX.

$1K binoculars experiences - Conquest HD, Monarch HG, Tract Toric, GPO Passion HD, Trinovid HD (2 Viewers)

The Nikon HG 10x42 and HG 8x42 wins in the two categories that are most important to me. None of the other 10x42's weigh 24 oz. and have a 6.9 degree FOV, and none of the other 8x42's weigh 24 oz. and have an 8.3 degree FOV. If you like a big FOV and you don't want to spend $2000 on an NL or SF and you don't want the glare of an NL, the HG is your binocular. Here is a good comparison of the Nikon HG 8x42, Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42, Swarovski SLC 8x42 and Nikon M5 8x42 on Amazon.com.

I've seen lots of people say that the 7x leica and nikon edg offer great depth of field. I can personally say the curio's had that as well.
DOF has nothing to with aperture or brand of binocular, DOF is determined solely by magnification. A Leica 7x42, EDG 7x42 and Curio 7x21 all have the same DOF.
