1st Butterfly of 2021 (1 Viewer)

I live in Aviemore, not the sort of place you associate with early butterflies, if I see a butterfly in March I'd consider that early, normally I don't see any until April. So I was surprised to find a Small Tortoiseshell had appeared in the house this afternoon. After photographing it, it was moved to the garage to carry on hibernating where I can keep an eye on it.

Bah humbug
Nice! I dreamed I had seen the first butterfly of the year last week - a Red Admiral. However, thinking about it is appeared to be a hybrid Red Admiral/Peacock (is that even possible?) so not countable.
