One would expect an adult not to have moulted into winter plumage at this time of year. A first summer Arctic would have less well-marked dark lesser covert mark - and shorter legs. It would also have all primaries same generation, while at this time of year a first summer (2cy) Common would have worn outers. Therefore I wonder if the subject bird seems to have all primaries the same generation, although the outermost seems to be dark.Any flight shots?JanJ</blockquote>
