2 Gulls Northumberland (1 Viewer)

Birding Bob

Robert Williamson
Hi all,

Can anyone please help me id and age these gulls? I went to Northumberland this July and photographed these two gulls, I think they're Herring but not a 100% sure.

Thanks

Robert

1st one, Herring-Gull (argentatus) 4th winter.
dark markings on dull looking bill, in otherwise adult plumage.

2nd. 1st winter, very pale Gull, which furthermore has a very dark bill. In my opinion is an argentatus.
