...

The list hasn't yet been updated though

They still have technical difficulties with updating their list. According facebook they are now at 495 species with the new ones:
Common Tern
Reedling (=Bearded Tit)
Great Bittern
Red-necked Grebe
Barn Owl
(all in their so far best birding day with a total of 111 species in Hortobagy national park!)

Now embarking on a pelagic in southern Kuwait - very interesting...

Great news, though it's a shame they couldn't ID the White-fronted Geese. Now with Barn Owl on the list the difference list should be updates too. What surprises me most is that they still haven't seen Willow Warbler as a group. I was sure they would get it in Hungary, they're singing all over germany at the moment

If they could see the white fronts would have thought they would have been able to id them as Lessers on combination of jizz/size/location? Or just being extra cautious as they won't have a problem connecting elsewhere later in the year??

Ten additions today including a nice self-found rarity. They didn't add anything on me for the WP today though (thankfully). I had two WP ticks today Socotra Cormorant and White-cheeked Tern.

All the best

How do you know? I can't find anything on Facebook nor on their website. What are the additions?

I found them.

I think - Willow Warbler, Bridled Tern, White-cheeked Tern, Socotra Cormorant, Little Tern, Pied Wheatear, Red -tailed Shrike, Syke's Warbler, Menetrie's Warbler & Whinchat (if I was paying attention).

I need to stare at the Syke's photos some more.

All the best

The problems with their listing software have been sold. In addition to the already mentioned species they've added Basra Reed Warbler and golzii Nightingale today. Not much left for them to clean up now

Probably there will be more additions today as they have entered ticks just until 8:45 o'clock in the morning...

B#gger. I knew that I shouldn't have lost them again. Basra Reed Warbler is another one on me though at least I'm in the right place to do something about it! That said Ruppell's Weaver is gripped back so they are only 22 of maybe 60-70 that I won't have seen by the end of the year.

I'd expect them to be gunning for 750.

We've had Rock Thrush and White-throated Robin again today as well as Montagu 's Harrier, Hobby and White-winged Tern and Black-winged Pratincoles are about. I'd expect Caspian Plover, Egyptian Nightjar and Hume 's Warbler are high up on their wants with Shikra. There had been one last week at their first site this morning.

All the best

Basra Reed Warbler

Aside from SW Iran, which is time consuming, I had always though a short trip to Kuwait for Basra Reed Warbler might be the way to go for this species. What is the story with them - are there very few pairs? late to arrive?

cheers, alan
