Message: <blockquote data-quote="ronh" data-source="post: 3355049" data-attributes="member: 55514">Today, hiking down into the rather spectacular White Rock Canyon of the Rio Grande, I spied, with my porro 8x30 Fujinon FMTR-SX, some house finches about 50 feet away, against a backdrop of the distant canyon wall.  The birds appeared three dimensional, which I guess they actually are come to think of it, but strongly, entertainingly, and quite beautifully so. The viewpoint of the distant backdrop, strikingly different "through" the birds to my right and left eyes, made for an image about like the old 3-D "Viewmaster" device. (Showing my age here huh?) I was entranced, and nearly lost my footing on the steep and narrow trail. Guess I'll take my excitement wherever I can find it.  With a 30 foot close focus, I don't suppose they'll make me cross-eyed.Ron</blockquote>
