Your sample images have convinced me the 50D will improve my images as much ( or maybe more) as the new lenses have done. Imagine going from a 10D + 75-300mm IS to a 50D +500mm or 300mm L IS glass!  I suppose it should have been a no-brainer, but the shutter problems with the 40D had me nervous, wondering if the 50D might have the same issue, or the 50D was over hyped. But now I can't wait. Thanks again for your efforts in sharing your review and images.</blockquote>
