Message: <blockquote data-quote="gergrd" data-source="post: 1763970" data-attributes="member: 81425"><p>I have a Panasonic G1 which I use with a Panasonic M4/3 to 4/3 adapter and an Olympus 70-300.  The Olympus does autofocus in this setup and provides an effective reach of 600mm.  I don't get image stabilization with this lens as the Olympus system uses in-camera image stabilization.  So you either need really good light or a monopod / tripod for best quality pictures.  If I were starting fresh, I would consider one of the small Olympus M4/3 bodies with the 70-300 to reduce size and weight and get image stabilization).  Or if I weren't in a hurry, I'd wait for the Panasonic 100-300 and mate that with a GF1.  I also have a Panasonic FZ-35 superzoom which I use on those days when I'm primarily bird-hiking but want to be able to record anything interesting I encounter along the trail.</p></blockquote><p></p>
