We got on the coach at Plympton, arriving at Slimbridge at 11.45 a.m. OH & I went straight off bird watching. We had eaten lots on the coach|:D| The captive birds were fairly easy to photograph, a few below. The bird feeder was from a hide. We had a brilliant day, saw lots of birds, including, Knott, Spotted Redshank, Golden Plover, Lapwings. A Buzzard, ( being constantly buzzed by a single Lapwing, who was taking great exception to it sitting in a tree, the buzzard took no notice |=)| Peregrine, (that one set all the estuary birds up) Hundreds of ducks, Widgeon, Teal & Pochard. Pintail on Swan Lake, but I don't know if they were wild ones. Moorhens & Coot everywhere. Curlew, Dunlin, Redshank, Oystercatchers & others not identified, by us anyway. Little birds were most of the garden birds, plus Reed Bunting. A very satifying birding day, dispite no rarities & the absence of most of the wild swans. We came home a tired but happy crowd|=)| I'll post some more later.
