Hi Pam Just catching up here at the moment ;) Love your busy picture on your first post. What a lot of species to see all in one hour. I would be proud of a list like yours anyday. :t: I looked up Cetti's Warbler, and I see it is an all year round resident in Menorca also. I have heard them in Marston Country Park close to where I stay at Bedford - but did not see them at all. I seen two flitting between the bushes in Menorca this year while walking around one of their National Parks. One of the members of staff at Marston Country Park said he sat for 13 hours, soley to see one bird (as they are so secretative in their habits) - he did see one eventually. They seem to move around and no-one sees them moving at all. Just a puzzle in itself to people who want to observe them . o:) Like you say Pam, Cetti's have very distinctive tails and the tail feathers make it look broad, so that is a good way of knowing that you have seen one. Simon, I would say they are very hard to photograph as they like to remain well hidden in the bushes. Val: From what I had discovered myself, some Warblers seen to like to show themselves more than others. The Willow Warbler has been a save bet for us this year with the scope. I think it is knowing all of their little quirks, and how they move about the branches. I found the Garden Warbler very hard to see after hearing 2 birds at seperate locations this year. Anyway, Pam enjoyed reading your thread and it is interesting challenge seeing Warblers is and thank you for sharing your thoughts. Look forward to another hour of your birding experiences anytime. Regards Kathy x
