I find it possible to identify them on call alone, however, this is only because I have listened to them over and again and studied them in great detail at every opportunity. The more experience you have with these beauties the easier it becomes.Will there be more splits involved? Possibly - nemoralis could well be split from whistleri, calls are different. The next step is unravelling s. affinis, looking at the vocal data I would guess there is a minimum of 4 species involved here (Dalat Plateau, Himalaya, central and south-eastern China).Enjoy them... makes Phylloscopus identification look easy!James</blockquote>
