Hio Linda, I'm using ED50 angled with 13-40x zoom and DS16x eyepiece while birding. The default eyepiece on the ED50 is the zoom and when I need to do digiscoping, I used the DS16x eyepiece with my universal adapter made by SRB-Griturn. I have used the DS27x eyepiece loaned unit by Nikon Malaysia for few months. In open area with good lights, when I compared the DS16x on my ED82 (which became DS30x) and DS27x on ED50, I could easily identify birds with both scopes and get good result for digiscoping on my ED82 but decent shots from my ED50. But when I used the DS27x on ED50 inside the rain forest, the view was dimmed and almost impossible for digiscoping with shutter speed at 4/1000 and below at ISO 400. I still could ID the birds for my clients, but when they looked at it, they did not really enjoy the colours of the birds because of the dimmer view. So with ED50 in the forest, I used zoom eyepiece mainly for viewing, but for digiscoping, I will swap with DS16x eyepiece. Plus the weight is lighter than my ED82 :king: So carrying the 13-40x zoom and DS16x eyepiece is sufficient for my needs and the ED50 so far never failed me to identify birds and other wildlife while on birding tours. The ED82 now used mainly for digiscoping when I'm out birding with friends hahaha :-O
