Message: <blockquote data-quote="BruceH" data-source="post: 3205807" data-attributes="member: 106398">Someone say "Picture"?Here is a just taken photo of my 8X32 Nikon EDG-II front objective.  Hopefully that angle shows what is needed to compare to the one you had.  Interesting comment on the objective cap retainers indenting the armor over time.  I never use them so no indentations here.  My 8X32 was purchased brand new three years ago and the serial number is 70043x.  It does appear you got "old" new stock or maybe refurbished stock.  Did your unit come in a black box or a white box?  Her is the US, factory new units come in black boxes with EDG graphics where Nikon refurbished units come in plain white boxes.  Also, the Nikon factory refurbished units have a small punch indent right next to the serial number on the focus knob.</blockquote>
