Age of Zeiss binoculars (1 Viewer)

Hello - I stumbled on this board when trying to find out more information about my grandad’s binoculars. They have a Carl Zeiss Jena logo with the words ‘multi-coated’ Deltrintem and the serial number 5199611. He was in the navy in WW2 but probably bought them in the 60s when he took up photography.

Hello Anavena,

Multi-coating suggest that the binocular is rather newer than the 1960's. I am sure someone will add a more accurate date.

Stay safe,
Arthur

Thanks for the reply, his name was Arthur as well! I’ve seen a list of serial numbers after further research on this forum which suggests they might be from 1979/80 as you say - he died in June 1981. IMG_2712.jpeg
