Thanks Pam - was fantastic to get photos of the Nuthatches and although it's not on a natural perch I think one out-does the shots my Brother took that I was so green with envy of! :t: This local patch does seem very good as that list is only from the last year or so - the Warley Place reserve I visited yesterday lists 65 species since 1977 so considering that I am a fairly inexperienced birdwatcher looking at the area over a short period of time it seems really rich. I remember it wasn't long ago that I used to walk across the meadow here and didn't think there was a single bit of wildlife here! I updated the list as I remembered that I saw Song Thrushes and Great Spotted Woodpeckers near Moulsham Mill recently. If I expanded the area a bit I could add Red-crested Pochard, Cuckoo, Water Rail, Swallows, Wigeon and probably more as I've seen other stuff further along the river in this area! I've heard of Curlews here recently too and the Red Throated Diver spent some time here before it unfortunately passed away but haven't seen them on the patch myself. ...I think listing is in my blood even though I've tried hard to resist it - the desire to make lists of species keeps creeping in. :-O
