Dear All,
I am looking for information about a French collector named Alphonse Robert who collected with C. I. Forsyth Major in Madagascar in 1894-1896. A. Robert collected birds and mammals in South America in the early 1900s and specimens were sent to the British Museum of Natural History. He has five mammals named after him, but also a bird species Comopophaga roberti described by Hellmayr in 1905.
I have not been able to find any information about A. Robert who collected hundreds of specimens of birds and mammals that have been studied by Olfield Thomas, Carl Hellmayr among others. Any assistance on that matter will be greatly appreciated.
