A friend and I are going to be transitting through Qatar in October, and we're looking to spend a day and do some birding. In particular, Irakhiya Farm looks like the place to go. Are there any birding guides in Qatar, or even a local birder that would be available on a weekday to take us out there and any other worthwhile spots?

I'm working on a field guide for Qatar. Octoebr shoukd be passage season, so maybe terns in the beach or a local park for some flycatchers. I should finish up by the end of this month

Hi Phil, no, we didn't find anyone, and so decided that it was all too much trouble just for one transit day. I don't know if there are any local bird guides in Qatar.

Hello everyone!
My wife and me will be in Qatar in mid-October for one day during a stop-over. We would also be interested in finding a bird guide who can take us around and visit some of the interesting birding sites (and maybe some of the cultural sites too). I did not find any information online, but will check around further and also contact the Qatar Bird Records Committee! If anyone knows something, please let me know!
