I am curious whether anyone else has trouble with copies of Handbook of the Birds of the World deteriorating with age more than other books? A number of my volumes, mainly from the middle of the series (about vol 4 – vol 9) now have bad stains, particularly on the end papers and first and last 20 pages, but in other places too. It’s got to the stage I can’t separate some pages without causing significant damage. No doubt local storage conditions contribute, but I have lots of other books and while a few show a bit of foxing, I don’t have any others that have deteriorated to nearly this extent.
