Argentina, February, Hummingbird: Gilded Sapphire ? (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
Dear all,
I am a bit puzzled by this old photo. The Gilded Sapphire (Hummingbird) I have seen since all have a mostly red bill. This one is mostly black, with a tiny bit of red.
Is there any explanation ? regional differences, different sex ?
Or is my ID completely wrong ?
Thank you for looking at it and giving me your thoughts, ugolino

Wat mutt, dat mutt!

Gilded Saphire it is. Light conditions sometime can make you believe that this is a Glittering-bellied Emerald but in this case the tail shows clearly that it is a Gilded Saphire.
