Taken in Central Southern Arizona, Aug 21, 11.

This was in the lowlands on a cloudy day... South of Green Valley Az.

Female Calliope maybe???

It's either Costa's or Calypte[Calliope Senior moment there.] Based on the distictly white anterior malar area, grayish rather than buffy flanks, and vague pale eyebrow visible in the photo I'd be inclined to guess Costa's.

Fraser, would love to help but I have no idea. You might want to try posting in the hummingbird forum. It might get more replies.
