female Broad-billed? Don't see any red in the lower mandible but it can be very faint in young females.

I received a message that the original bird in this thread could be a female/immature Magnificent Hummingbird. Can anyone tell me the marks to make the determination. I'm attaching the next photo that was taken. Different bird but possible Magnificent.

New one is a different bird, a young male. Note the purple(?) coming in on the throat. I'd go with Black-chinned, if that really is the actual gorget color. The 1st looks like a female Mag, with no red on the bill and that white stripe behind the eye.

Thanks for the input! I knew this was a different bird. I did some research on the Black-chinned and agree. Love that bird ID is such a challenge and hope I keep getting better.
