The highlights of 2008 for me are: 1. To see a Treecreeper closeup for the first time while walking local close to my house. 2. Looking out of the window and having eye contact with a Green woodpecker sitting on my lawn for a good 5 mins. 3. Hearing a Scops Owls in Spain. Seeing a Shrike for the first time in the same area. 4. A Firecrest at Grafham Water 5. My OH saw a Kingfisher for the first time along with Long Tailed Tits at Paxton Pits Reserve (local to us). He was very happy with the result 6. Hearing a Chiffchaff for the first time in my local Patch. Too many to think about. Others may come to mind yet. :t: :-O:-O We are going to Spain in May 2009, sailing, and we will take the birds as we see them once more. :t:
