So many lifers both at home and abroad this year - was outstanding. Enjoyed working scrub around salt lakes in south eastern spain in march which produced my first BW Stilts, Southern Grey Shrike, Hoopoes, Bluethroat, Booted Eagle and more. A trip to Scotland in June produced everything, Golden Eagle, WT Eagle, Osprey, Corncrake 3 species of Crosser, Ptarmigan, Crested Tit, sum plum slav and BTD and eventually Capercaillie. A trip to lands end saw Alder Flycatcher. Amur Falcon on my local patch. 3 or 4 Rough leg Buzzards were good. Birding around a sewage works in the desert on sinai was incredible despite missing the sandgrouse. Too many other twitches to mention. Black Grouse in -7 celsius in Yorkshire. Glossy Ibis in 22 celsius in february - very strange. White-crowned Sparrow! Also seeing my first snakes in britain. Amazing year really.
