It's just ego, but the Ultravids match what people perceive is a high end bin, while I have to explain how good the SEs are and have people actually look through them. BTW the SE focus doesn't seem slow to me, rather it is very precise. I don't use glasses and the rubber eyecups work fine, actually better than the Leica eyecups because I can squish the Nikons in a fraction to just the right spot.No, unfortunately I can understand why Nikon would abandon the SE for more glitzy roofs in this day and age.
