Yes, I think they are based off the same design as the other models you mentioned. There are some differences though. Two that immediately jump to mind are different coatings...at least on the objectives. The Cronus have that bright purple, green mixture...not just the usual flat green reflection. Second, they are tack sharp in the center of the field of view. I mean really sharp. Not sure if that is the extra .5 magnification or something "tweaked" about this particular version but I can pull the very finest details out from whatever I am looking at.3. The binocular is marked at 399 feet at 1000 yards. I haven't measured it but when comparing it to other models with known measurements this number seems accurate based on what I am seeing. This unit is an 8.5x42 so it is slightly higher in magnification than any of the other field flattener models introduced previously.</blockquote>
