Gosh it's like I'm living in a different country!!! We bought a couple of fans in early July because it was just SO hot and the one clipped to the side of my desk has hardly been off whenever I'm sitting at my desk for weeks now :eek!: TBH I'm getting fed up of this heat now and want a 'nice' temperature where I can walk around without boiling up :smoke: Perhaps I'm just a typical northerner and not used to heat? Must have some eskimo blood or summik! :-O

We're off to the Lakes for a week next Tuesday so if anyone wants to stay in our flat in tropical Northumberland ;).......:king:

Today has been hot & sunny again *yawn* but there HAS been a slightly cooling breeze at times which HAS been nice :t:

A lot more trees are strarting to change their leaf colour and there's a bit of leaf drop too......anyone else noticed this? Just seems very early to me?

Gill - what are the temperatures in your area? It would be interesting to know!

We have had 90% sun today, very warm when in it, and three very short, very light showers. 21°c.

Yes, I must replace the old temperature gauge I used to have. The probe used to be outside and it gave you an indoor and outdoor reading :t:

Or perhaps I should get a maximum/minimum thermometer and oput it on a hook on the outside wall and get a reading every day?

Today has been a lot cooler and more bearable :t: The rain started at around 10am and has been steady ever since.

I'll see if I can find some local temperatures on the internet.....they must be published somewhere :smoke:

Apparently it was 20 degrees C at Boulmer, which is just along the road from Alnwick, yesterday. Today at 2pm it was 14 degrees :t:

It's obviously starting to get TOO hot for me once it reaches 20 degrees C :smoke:;) :-O

Ah! I thought that maybe "hot" meant different things to you and to me, Gill! 20°c is just pleasantly warmish to me! :D

Very warm today, and and the skies are blue for a change.

The weather here we are is supposed to be very sunny this weekend. OH is home this weekend after working away Monday until Friday in Glasgow. So we might use this Sunday for a trip out. :-O

Just part of the job climate/recession that we have to be away from our loved ones if work is not found locally. :-C

Sunny and quite windy today.....nice & cool too :t: We've had a couple of heavy showers this afternoon but the sun is back out now and the skies are looking quite clear......extra duvet tonight methinks ;)

It's definitely very autumnal now....the trees are starting to really change colour and drop their leaves now.....seems very early! :eek!:

VERY windy! Only a couple of brief but heavy showers, mostly sunny.

I know that this story only refers to Horse Chestnuts, but maybe there is something else responsible for the early colour turning on other trees. Some don't look 'right' for the usual colour change, more as if they are damaged in some way.

Early autumn.
