How do you figure that can happen without independence? The majority of Scots don't want Trident here, but we have the equivalent of no say on the matter. If something goes badly wrong (nuclear accident) most of the central belt (where most of the population is) is downwind of the fallout or within the blast radius. We also have rusting submarine hulks at Rosyth, a few miles from Edinburgh (I believe there are a few at Potsmouth(?) too). Again, an accident waiting to happen. Also the SNP's plan with independence was to have Faslane as the main Scottish Navy base. Despite assertions from various Labour politicians the figure quoted by the MoD when asked how many jobs were solely reliant on Trident was somewhere between 500-600, not the 1000s, or 10000s trumpeted loudly by Jackie Baillie etc. Whereas here in 'good ol' Blighty' we instead go down the road of adding the required number of former MPs/party donors to the House of Lords to get the result wanted (as Mr Cameron has said he will do to ensure he always gets his way), or change the law retrospectively (as was done to protect IDS's demonisation of the lower classes). Or there's always postal vote fraud? It isn't just third world countries where elections and their like are rigged (much as you'd like to believe). I have a theory as to how easily the referendum could have been rigged and I suspect the EU referendum will see similar methods used to ensure the 'establishment' get the result they want. Ask yourself how much proof you have to provide when you register to vote, and when you actually pop into a polling station. If I know your name and address I can pop into your local polling station and vote as you and only when you turn up later to do so, will it be queried. If you don't go to vote, no-one will likely discover the fraud. This is known to have actually happened during the referendum. However things have gone very quiet on the investigations of this and a few other questionable happenings surrounding the referendum. Rather than continue this particular discussion on yet another thread about windfarms, if either of you guys wants to further discuss then feel free to PM me. Wouldn't trust the BBC to tell me the time.
