Just to let you know Autumnwatch is on 7-8pm tonight on BBC 2 - changed schedule fro some reason

Probably due to whats been happening in the USA Kathy ;) :king:.Just watching Simon diving now.

Hi Bea

Thanks for letting me know - just realised the USA situation now - OH was looking forward to Top Gear too! - but not to be. ;)

Great show tonight once more.

The diving by Simon was great to see. Loved the Conger Eel, and he was large. Scary to see too. Not shy and retiring at all.

It brought all the memories back o the famous Jacques Cousteau from all those years ago. i loved his films and watched them every week. Memories memories!!! ;)

Loved the squirrel antics tonight too. They are so smart aren't they. :t:

The Water Rail is an interesting bird and I never realised that their 'call' sounded as it did. They have huge feet - bigger than a Coots or Moorhens. o:)

Someone here on X-Beeb has seen, and taken a picture of a picture of a Water Rail. Remind me who it was! I would think that they are not the easiest bird to see at all. ;)

Tonight programme was another good one. Last one tomorrow.
I thought the Ants were interesting & the diving with Simon.
I love the Red Squirrels antics on the obstacle course.
That poor kidnapped, or should it be pupnapped seal pup. Did the other female lose her pup? Which is why she nicked Nemo?
I forgot to mention the Sea Eagles they are spectacular birds.

Hi Val

The ants are interesting, and what a hectic life that they lead :eek!:

Like yourself, I cannot understand why the other female has kidnapped Nemo at all. The other female had 4 pups at one stage. Not sure if any where her own at all. Did you hear how traumatized Nemos mum felt. What a sad sound she was expressing - poor mum that she is!

The WTE's are beautiful birds and they are so graceful in full flight. Loved to see that they are a success. o:)

I missed Autumnwatch this evening......I was too busy making patterns outdoors with my sparklers!o:D

Hi Pam

Here is the i-player link for Episode 7 - it will be on later on tonight.

Thanks, Kathy!:t: By the way we only had sparklers!;)

Hi Pam

No worries Pam about the link. :t:

Sparklers are the best - still remember them from a long time ago. Do you have to wear a thick glove while handling them now?

No glove, Kathy! I have grown up a little now and can be trusted to hold them at arms length!;):-O

I'v been recording it lately so that I can FF the Seals, I'm sorry but they make me shudder. Plus any under water footage affects my breathing!!
Otherwise everything else has been super duper! :t:
(Oh dear, I'm coming over all asthma now!) :eek!:

Nice ones pie.

I have to be honest and say I have given Autumnwatch a miss this week until tonight.

I thought the film from Rhum was xcellent, as was that from Mull and the Farnes.
Poor old Ceasar! I guess he led an eventful life however.

I would say that the programmes I have watched were rather like the curates egg...good in parts. I'm very fussy these days.;) I appreciate what the programmes achieve and owt that gets nature into the heads of the masses is good in my book. Lets hear some applause for Bill Oddie now!:t::clap:3:)

Well done with Water Rail pics, Pie!:t:

It was great to see the Waxwings on the Farnes! They certainly looked as though they were enjoying the apples! For me apart from the seals, it was the most exciting part of tonights programme!
Why, oh why, did they send Simon down into the murky sea? I reckon a few of us must have felt breathless after watching him trying unsuccessfully to find a Conga Eel!

Roll on Springwatch!:t:

I didn't look at the underwater scenes as I have a phobia of water on my face - I hyperventilate in a swimming pool if I get splashed, so couldn't watch that bit. I loved the bees burrowing in the sand banks, and the squirrels' assault course. Sad to hear Caesar had met his end, but lots of lovely pieces as well, especially the waxwings on the false trees! I must say I have never seen them in supermarket carparks though.

Oh well go on a clap for Kate too I suppose. I have to say however I have never fully forgiven her for standing me up last year! She cancelled a talk in Newcastle at very short notice. I suspect she may have had a better offer.;)

I did enjoy the last AW. The films of what went before were super. Shame they didn't find an eel during the live prog.
I loved the Red Squirrels on their obstacle course.
