Hi folks - first time poster.

I have a watercolour that I want to sell of a black & white bird - can anyone help to identify the bird in question?Unknown Bird.jpg

Thank's Alexander. Google images wasn't my friend but just checked your answer and you are spot-on.

I'm about to list the painting on eBay and you've earned yourself a 20% discount!!

Yes, with an British/European based artist, its right to assume, that the artist really painted a Manx Shearwater with complete lack of the faintest brownish tinge and thats the answer that helps you, maybe you want a new hobby? Bird watching and identification is so interesting, please look here: Yelkouan Shearwater
And of course, the answer from Andy is surely the best in this forum mostly about confident identification.

I wish you good luck on ebay!

I'm just going to jump in here and wish you a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum (y)

Hi Drgwalker and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
