They also almost didn't notice disappearance of some so called natural monuments (old trees) in Białowieża Forest when PO party was in power, removed by local authorities sometime because they were allegedly dangerous, despite some of them were habitats of protected insects. Those trees disappeared and nobody knew when ! It means that nobody was keeping eye on them !</p><p>August 13 - November 12 2010 Greenpeace collected above 250,000 signatures under a project of a new Nature Conservation Act changed such a way, that extension of national parks would become possible (removing veto of local authorities, implemented February 2 2001 to ban the extension of Bialowieża forest forever). PO parliament was reading that twice or more because that was its duty and did nothing. Today we have the year 2016 and that document lies somewhere. A little earlier (2009) PO government made a sham in my opinion operation in the direction of extension of the park, which was only the financing of local politicians in fact. Similarly in years 1999 - 2000 local authorities obtained money (10 millions zł., so called contract for Pushcha) supposed to encourage them to the extension of the park and later obviously they didn't agree too. So they got money at least twice on account of extension of national park.</p><p>In recent 20 years the protecion of Białowieża forest improved twice - in 1996 the microscopical park was enlarged twice, in 2003 a new preservation in Białowieża Forest was created, almost so large like the park, called Natural Forests of the Białowieża ~Forest. This is strange preservation, different than existing ones, because it consists of about or above a dozen separate areas. It is probably useless in forestry, wet.</p><p>Recently madness PO-PiS covered the earth in Poland, in addition to traditional problems ...</p><p></p><p>Edited later:</p><p>Oh, I forgot. PiS president requested once to prepare the Protection Act for Bialowieża Forest, extending national park on its entire area. That document was ready december 2006. It was very strange, because it was doomed to failure without removal the mentioned earlier veto law and looked like pure propaganda of that president, having only show him in a better light. Actually one could get the impression, that someone requested from that president to request to prepare that document (collecting mentioned earlier signatures by Greenpeace was also a little strange).
