In the past the entry ban was raised as one of most crucial arguments against extension of the national park. Because locals could not harvest mushrooms, black berries etc. In other ways they want them to live like in XIX century to better control them.They lie because all national parks are opened for people, there are hiking trails everywhere. And probably locals could get special permits in case of Białowieża forest. In my opinion they despise people and only use them.The current Białowieża National Park is like a small fortress besieged by State Forestry, most of its part is strict preservation and this makes impression, that nature protection means ban on entry. But this is only result of lasting from about 100 years fight between naturalists and subsequent governments.The entry to forest is prohibited maybe even almost each summer because of fire hazard, but this December 31st ... And May 1st is to early. This is something more. Perhaps these news are true and they are not part of fight between dwarfish recently PO and PiS.Edited next day:Before WWII State Forestry called the Białowieża National park a hotbed of plague.</blockquote>
