[QUOTE="locustella, post: 3430164, member: 26257"] The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (Narodowy Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej, NFOŚiGW) withdrew financing of several projects of several NGOSs. They lost 30%, millions of zł from European Union. It may have something to do with PO-PiS broil with use of the Białowieża Forest. This is how NGOs probably work - they depend financially on government, at least partially, because for example NFOŚiGW is controlled by government (PO party in the past, PiS party now if PiS has already replaced governmental members of the board of NFOŚiGW). This might be why they ommit the term "national park" when PO party is in power and when not. I wouldn't be surprised. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are VERY GOVERNMENTAL, at least in Poland. There is also for example such strange awful category called "public benefit organization" (organizacja pożytku publicznego OPP). Such organisations have some privileges - people can give them 1% of their tax, they are also partially tax exempt, donations to such organizations cause tax reduction, they have some privileges in media (don't pay for some information). But in reward they are controlled by government. Many NGOs, maybe most of them, are OPPs. Edited later: 2005/2006 PiS attacked NFOŚiGW and the battle for Rospuda Valley on large scale had begun soon.
