I believe this is a Banded Groundling male, but which species in Nairobi (or both)?

Yes - Dark borders (node side) to pterostigmas and dark veins behind the pterostigma make it B.leucosticta (Southern Banding Groundling). An annotated pic of a male Brachythemis impartita Northern Banded Groundling attached for comparison
