This species was described by Ryan et al. in 1998 (Ibis 140:605-619), and is recognised by Clements 08, but not H&M 03. However S&M 96 did recognise the need for a separate species, and split cavei (one of the subspecies of Barlow's Lark) as the species Caves Lark.

I therefore suggest that we retain Barlow's Lark as a separate species in Opus.
