Baypollpine Warbler - Ottawa, ON (1 Viewer)

Wondering which of Bay-breasted, Blackpoll or Pine Warbler this is, photographed at Shirley's Bay today.

Undertail not white, so I reckon Blackpoll can be excluded. Tough between the other two; tentative preference for Bay-breasted from the strongly contrasting wing pattern.

I don't know pine warbler but Sibley says undertail white for that too so must be bay-breasted

Bay-breasted for me, pp even with foreshortening (2nd image) appears equal to tertials.

Seems immature Pine can have off-white undertail, which is why I was hesitant to exclude it completely :t:

I wouldn't expect the combination of completely unstreaked head and underparts with suddenly streaked back on any Pine Warbler. Comfortable with Bay-breasted here.
