I'm behind you lot as I just started it on skyplus but had to pop in to say how delighted I was by Lee's opening salvo of "I'm a maverick....". Perfect.

It was. It was also 'fair' and well produced.

Completely. Excellent film-making and a very fair portrayal of that end of the hobby. I really rather enjoyed it myself. I just hope Brett and Garry were open-eyed about what they were letting themselves in for.

Agreed, it was a pretty accurate show of some twitchers.

If you didn't like what you saw, don't blame the programme!!

The one liners from LGRE were classic - "I've lived my life like George Michael", "My job is like Prime Minister" etc.....

Tragic, but good.

Didn't see myself, though, despite being filmed. Thank God!

I thought it was a great show. Many different characters, each being themselves. Can't ask for more than that.

I was proud of my 206 so far this years before watching it. Rather measly looking now! I also thought my failed twitch for the Suffolk L.Kestrel was a long way to go to dip!

Even though the guys in this show are at the top end, even I identified strongly with the need to see a bird and the relief once you get it. It captured that well.

Good stuff guys.

I thought it was excellent. Lee (and his portrayal by both the BBC and Garry) should have provided enough ammunition for the would-be llamas of this world for years to come and Garry showed all the dedication of the obsessed twitcher with a non-interested wife (I've heard the line about not telling the costs of twitching before). I can imagine that "birdwatchers" didn't like it, but for a twitcher it should be instantly recognisable.
Now if I could get a DVD to show it to my Dutch colleagues...

The documentary followed Garry Bagnell, the Craig family and Brett Richards on their twitches and portrays how incredibly obsessive twitching can become - says I after twitching the American Bittern and Green Heron at the weekend!!!

7 year old Mya Rose Craig (LGRE's rival;)) didn't really look like she was that interested to me - may be wrong though. When asked by Lucy Leveugle, the programmes producer "What makes a good twitcher?" Mya replied "patience and good eyesight" - I would add to that question 'loads of dosh and time'!!!

Great to listen to Lee's thought's on everything!

Other celebs on there included Dick Filby and Will of RBA, Brett Richards, the Craig family, Jed Andrews, also noticed Rebecca Nason at the Eastern Crowned Warbler twitch.

NWT Cley was also shown, along with the Sandhill Crane Twitch and the Eastern Crowned Warbler twitch.

Entertaining and interesting, but it would have been good to have included some female twitchers and I know there's not many, but Sue Bryan was filmed for the documentary - don't know why she wasn't included.

I had the exact same feeling. Followed very shortly by nausea when the "Lived my life like George Michael" was trotted out.

I came on here to ask the same thing...

Does he know George spent it in public restrooms? :eek!:
