Bee-eater id please; Kenya (1 Viewer)

An old 1985 slide from Kenya. Any help pinning it down gratefully appreciated.

No Kenya exp, but from the fat Chamberlain, Bird of Africa etc, it looks like Cinnamon-chested Bee-Eater

Cinnamon-chested: highland forest bird and much larger than Little Bee-eater from dry savannah (looks almost identical)

That was my concern. I can't be sure where the slide was taken but we went to Samburu, Nakuru/Naivasha, Mara, Nairobi NP, Tsavo East if that helps.

Must be Little than, and sitting in a thornbush

This bird appears to have a squarish tail and large breast band, which threw me. Also I was not sure of the colour of the supercilium of the Cinnamon -chested in the book, as I am a bit colour blind for some colours. Habitat, I agree is also a major factor. I have a photo of 3 Little Bee-Eaters my wife took in Namibia that has a slimmer breast band. Are these larger in Kenya

Interesting comment Andy. I have another old slide clumsily converted to digital which I will post along side this one of mine to see if we can get any more clarification
