The dreadful weather has got me going back through my photos from earlier in the year. I am confused by these and have had conflicting advice. Anyone got any thoughts? From Dunwich Heath, Suffolk 10/4/23. I'm not sure that they are the same species but they were right next to each other. Unfortunately I suspect the black one had been stood on and also that I should have got a better shot of the head. Silpha tristis, and the 2nd two Phosphuga atrata but not at all sure. Any thoughts appreciated.
