255) Whiskered Tern

25th December
South Melbourne beach, Vic
256) Short Tailed Shearwater

29th December
A quick stop at Banyule Flats after work in search of the elusive Australian Owlet-Nightjar that keeps evading me! Still no luck, but rounded off the year nicely with:
257) Tawny Frogmouth
258) Dusky Woodswallow (59)

So that's a year done - first time keeping a list, for a casual birdwatcher who works full time and only gets to sneak away from the missus once in a while. 4 countries in the year and a couple of interstate trips helped a bit, but 258 species, including 59 lifers I don't think is a bad return.

More of the same in 2010!

Cheers

Benjoman
