After pulling Gary's leg about only getting one addition in the last ten days on Fair Isle he has hit back in style today with the addition of Radde's Warbler (#294), Blyth's Reed Warbler (#295) and Red-flanked Bluetail (#296). And the day is not over with a few other leads to chase up .....

Yesterday saw Gary miss the Olive-backed Pipit on Fair Isle but still add another (long-awaited) species in the form of Barnacle Goose (#298).

As megas broke to the north and south of Fair Isle today the best Gary could manage was another dip on an Olive-backed Pipit.

Now on the brink of 300 with the addition today of Mealy Redpoll (BOU #299); hopefully his 300th bird of the year will be a mega Sibe.

At this point there will be two lists now running. Gary's ultimate goal is the European Green Birding record of 305 species (using the AERC listing authority). They don't recognise Mealy Redpoll as a distinct species so that year list remains at 298.

Gary reached his next landmark today with his 300th species (BOU) of his Green Year list - an Olive-backed Pipit (still on Fair Isle)
