[QUOTE="DunnoKev, post: 1433871, member: 38448"] He's been an icon of mine for many years, I've had the pleasure of meeting him several times when he's had his 'public persona' on, and on a couple of times the not so pleasurable experience of meeting him in 'strictly private persona' mode. He's human. Reading his recent (non-birdy) auto-biography, it was clear he was readying himself to draw lines under certain aspects of his life. The book also tried to deal with the still-raw wound of his mum's battles with mental health problems, and I was left feeling he had to be either totally relieved by the end of writing it, or else completely drained. If he's checked himself back in again, then hopefully it will be as before, as he writes about, a short stay and a recharge for his batteries. His way of dealing with it. He seemingly knows what works for him, so I for one won't bother him at this time by wishing him well. He writes about his dislike for the way tabloids cover his depression, but that's the thing that happens when you chose a life where you put yourself in the public eye. So, yeah, he's been my icon but I really don't want to see WEO the personality back on telly any time soon, I'd just like to hear many years from now that WEO the person has been able to spend loads of quality time doing what he wants to, enjoying life with his wife, his children and grandchildren he so clearly adores, instead of entertaining me.
